Require Administrator Permission To Delete File

Error “you require administrator permission to make changes to this folder” at time to delete file in windows. This message box shown when you try to delete or move any file or folder in window ,which is protected . In that case you are unable to delete this file or make change in the file .

It is not a error . It’s a security feature provided by windows to prevent unauthorized changes in computer . There are some methods or solutions to delete these restricted files .

Solutions

  • Disable user account Control.
  • Change User Account Type .
  • Disable User Account Control From Local Services .
  • Change Permission Type .

Disable User Account Control Settings

Click on start menu and then go to “control panel” . In this page click on “User Accounts And Family Safety” . Click on “User Accounts ” . Click on “User Account Control Settings ” . Drag the slide bar to “Never Notify ” . Click “ok” button and restart computer to make changes effect .

After these change you can modify or delete the protected file . But it is not recommended to disable account control permanently . So enable it after make change on file for security reasons .

Change User Account Type

This is second solution . Go to “control panel” . In this page click onUser Accounts And Family Safety” . Click onUser Accounts ” . Then click on “Change user account type” link . In this page select user account type “Administrator ” and save changes .

Disable User Account Control From Local Security Policy

In this solution go to “control panel” . Then change the control panel view to “category” view to “small icons” . Locate “administrative tools” and click to open it .

In the right side list locate “Local security policy” and click to open it. In security setting locate “Local policies” and click to open list . In right side list click on “security options” .In options list find service name “User Account Control: Detect application installation and prompt for elevation” .

Right click on this service and select “properties” . Disable this service by check box and ok to save settings .

Change Permission Type For Specific file

In this option Right click on specific file which you want to modify or delete . Select “Properties” tab from menu . In the properies window click on security tab .Select user name from “select user window” . Click on “Edit” button to change permissions . Select all check boxes to ok and save changes .
